Pittsburgh Brewing to Add Distilling to Its Portfolio
PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Pittsburgh Brewing Company is adding whiskey to its portfolio under the brand “Iron City Distilling.”
The operation will be located in the historic old boiler house at the new brewery campus in Creighton adjacent to the 140,000-square-foot brewing facility.

Iron City Distilling will be focused on making “brown” spirits. This includes a focus on rye whiskeys (a historic PA product) as well as bourbons.
Up to 20,000 square feet will be set aside to start to store and age products in accordance with best practices and style designations on a product-by-product basis.
Equipment has been ordered and is expected to arrive in the Fall, but distilling is planned to occur sometime after the brewery is operational and producing beer.
Product development is currently underway and specific brands will be announced at a later date.
