About this Role:

In your role as Packaging Manager, you will manage a team of packaging and warehouse operators, have a strong understanding of beverage packaging, outstanding leadership skills, and maintain a high level of communication with a focus on safety and quality.

What you will do:

• Scheduling – Work closely with Sales, Supply Chain, and Brewmaster to develop weekly production schedules for bottling, canning, and kegging. Ensure adequate staff to meet production demands.
• KPI and Efficiency – Monitoring key performance indicators and plant efficiency to work toward continued improvement. Develop and distribute work orders and run notes to the packaging team. Work closely with the Director of Brewing and Quality to ensure safety and quality standards are met along with meeting production demands.
• Oversees Packaging Operations – The individual is responsible for the operation, cleaning, and condition of a state-of-the-art packaging line capable of 450 bottles or cans per minute. This includes the filler, conveyors, pasteurizer, case packer, palletizer, and kegging system. The packaging manager will lead the crew toward continued improvement, provide technical expertise, and guidance regarding packaging and product specifications, and maintain a focus on quality and safety. Conduct daily pre-run staff meetings.
• Maintain SOP’s – Develop and maintain SOPs for bottling, canning, kegging, CIP, sanitation, and safety. Work closely with Maintenance on preventive maintenance.
• Warehouse inventory – Provides month end inventory reporting on packaging materials and finished goods. Maintains accurate inventory of all materials and finished goods. Order materials as necessary.

About this Role:

In your role as an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for the support, servicing, and upkeep of a brand-new automated brewery and high-speed packaging line capable of producing cans and bottles. Their duties require knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and computers. In this position you would report to the plant manager.

What you will do:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of automated equipment including, instrumentation, pumps, VFD’s, PLC’s, metering, and signaling devices used in the brewing/bottling process.
• Complete a regular routine of prescheduled PMs on equipment. Have flexibility to work with production to complete PM’s whilst minimizing production downtime. Reporting of work into a CMMS system to maintain scheduling and inventory of parts.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts using a CMMS system and actively updating counts.
• Provide technical assistance and support regarding all projects, installations, and repairs
• Communicate findings, changes, and fixes to colleagues through e-mail, texts, and voice calls
• Take care of installation, maintenance, and inspection of control systems and workstation installations at the facility
• Upgrade hardware and software for improved process control as required
• Prepare periodic reports on the progress made concerning faulty machines, errors, and processes
• Ensure the calibration of instrumentation/machines after any adjustments

About this Role:

In your role as Packaging Technician, you will be responsible for operating a state-of-the-art high speed canning and bottling line which includes operating the filler, performing CIPs, operating the pasteurizer, labeler, case packer, high cone application, loading and unloading materials by hand, hand jack or fork lift, performing quality checks such as dissolved oxygen or carbon dioxide volumes, and keeping accurate and detailed records.

What you will do:

• Line Feed Operation – Loading pallets of cans, glass, and other packaging materials. Staging packaging materials and ensuring consistent line operations.
• Filler Operation – Operating the filler which includes performing CIPs, line changeovers, quality checks such as CO2 volumes, dissolved oxygen, seam measurements, record keeping, and maintaining line efficiency.
• Monitoring the tunnel pasteurizer and ensuring optimal operation of the pasteurization units required for each product produced.
• Labeler, packer, gluing Operation – Keeping labels, trays, boxes, glue, and other packaging material feeds running.
• Carton make up Operation – Ensuring carton feed is uninterrupted during production.
• Keg line operation – Operating the automated Lambrechts keg filler which includes monitoring the flash pasteurizer, CIPs of the keg filler and transfer lines, monitoring adequate chemical dosage during CIPs, keeping records of beer type, kegs filled, and quality checks.

About this Role:

In your role as a Quality Assurance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine quality checks on raw materials, in process beer, and finished product including volatile analysis using GCMS, IBU and color analysis via UV/VIS spectrophotometry, OG, AE, RDF, ABV, pH, yeast density and viability, aseptic sampling, classic microbiology plating, advanced microbiology (PCR), routine quality checks on packaged product, archiving finished goods, raw material inspection, data entry and record keeping, and preparing and overseeing sensory panels.

What you will do:

• Analytical Chemistry – Routine analysis for color and IBU of wort samples, DMS and VDK for in process beer samples, analyzing samples using a densitometer/alcolyzer for OG, FG, AE, RDF, ABV, periodic hop alpha acid analysis and HSI determination using a UV/VIS spectrophotometer.
• Microbiology – Aseptic sampling of wort, fermenting beer, bright beer, and packaged beer. Samples are monitored for microbiological contaminants at various points of the process. These samples are plated on differential media, incubated and analyzed through microscopy. Critical points in the process require PCR analysis targeting specific beer spoilage bacteria and wild yeast. Performing yeast density and viability as needed.
• Packaging quality checks – Performing routine dissolved oxygen and carbonation volumes checks on packaged product. Performing routine pasteurization monitoring verifying PU’s.
• Monitoring can seam integrity and crown crimp measurements.
• Conducting Sensory on in process and finished beer – Maintaining tasting results for all panel members, establishing levels of competency among panelists, and administering routine sensory panels.
• Raw Materials analysis – Inspecting incoming malt for moisture, sizing, verifying lot numbers and reviewing the malt analysis.
• Inspecting hop shipments.
• Inspecting packaging material.
• Archive and Record keeping – Keeping accurate records of chemistry and microbiology results. Archiving finished goods and rotating samples to maintain organization.

About this Role:

In your role as Shift Brewer, you will be responsible for materials handling, wort production, yeast handling, filtration, dosing, diluting, carbonating, CIP process of hot and cold block areas, sanitation, and maintaining an organized and clean production facility. While each shift brewer may spend more time in one area of production (brewing, cellaring, or CIP), it is anticipated that you will be capable of performing the duties in each area.

What you will do:

• Material handling – Accepting ingredient deliveries such as malt, hops, process aides, etc., batching in specific recipes, weighing out ingredients, and maintaining cleanliness in the malt handling area.
• Wort Production – Operating the automated brewing process, collecting, measuring and recording pH, temperatures, and gravities, loading recipes, adding ingredients, monitoring wort flow through the brewhouse, chilling, oxygenating, and transferring wort.
• Yeast handling – Pitching, harvesting, cropping, and dumping yeast. Performing cell counts. Operating the yeast propagation system.
• Filtration, dosing, carbonating – Operating the centrifuge, final filtration, dosing skid, and carbonating beer or seltzer being transferred from the fermentation vessel (CCT) to the bright beer tank (BBT). Monitoring turbidity, temperature, pressures, dissolved oxygen, carbonation, and flow are required.
• CIP/Sanitation – Clean in place all brewhouse vessels, CCTs, BBTs, filtration and process lines. Sanitizing all process lines and vessels.
• Cleaning and organization – Moping/sweeping floors, scrubbing walls, tank exteriors, and performing items from the company’s master sanitation plan.
